New Free E-Book For Mission Teams

Mastering Mission Trips Serving Children and Teens – Teach One Reach OneMany mission teams are asked to interact with children in some way. Perhaps your team has been asked to do a “VBS’ type program. Maybe, the missionaries asked your team to conduct a day camp or help them with faith-based tutoring. The experience can be rewarding for your team, the mission field and most importantly the children, if you follow some basic best practices.

Teach One Reach One has spent quite a bit of time in the mission field both in the U.S. and in other countries. We wanted to field test what we think are best practices for mission teams who are working with kids and teens. Working with young people can be tricky. Just because everyone is having a blast, doesn’t mean they are learning more about God, what He wants for their lives and how to actually put God’s commands and principles in action in their lives.

On the other hand, just because you have materials that cover those important items, doesn’t mean your students will understand, enjoy or remember what you are trying to teach them. In fact if you aren’t careful, your team can accidentally do some things that will make those precious souls never want to darken the door of a church again.

Teach One Reach One is excited to announce we have released our free e-book Mastering Mission Trips Serving Children and Teens. We realize short term mission trips present special challenges for leaders and volunteers. We have taken feedback from missionaries and our own experiences field testing our tips and principles and created a free e-book containing what we believe are best practices. Mastering Mission Trips Serving Children and Teens can help the novice team member or even the experienced mission team leader reach children and teens effectively in the challenging environments of short term mission trips.

This e-book includes everything from dealing with themes to choosing activities to organizing volunteers and materials and everything else you might encounter on a mission trip. We even address special challenges like working in unusual environments and the reality of your situation being very different from what you had pictured. The table of contents is capable of taking you to the section you need, if you are looking for some specific help. Just click on the topic you want to see and it will take you directly to that portion of the book.

We hope the information in this book helps enhance what your team will do while serving children and teens. Our prayer is that this information will help your team make a meaningful, lasting impact on their lives for God. If we can help your team in any other way, please contact us. We will do whatever we can to make your mission experience as successful as it can be.
