Guiding Question: Why is listening to God important?

Materials: Paper, pencils, ruler

Procedure: Review the construction of the Tabernacle focusing on how the Israelites brought together their different talents to work to make it according to God’s specific instructions. Emphasize the importance of listening to God’s instructions and following them exactly as he says. Following God’s instructions are important because God wants the best for us and His instructions lead us down the best path for life. When we listen to God and worship Him, we learn to love Him more and obey Him because we want to and desire to have the best life we can.

Introduce the activity. Talk with students about how measurement was needed when building the Tabernacle. The instructions included measurements of different sections and elements of the Tabernacle. Have students draw and mark out measurements of the various elements of the tabernacle: https://biblestudentsdaily.com/tag/measurements-of-the-tabernacle/

Supplemental Activity: Have students design a church through drawing and marking out appropriate measurements for sections of the church.
