Introducing Saul

Scripture: I Samuel 8-11

Learning Objectives:

• Students will learn God has a plan and it is in our best interest to follow it.
• Students will learn God will sometimes allow us to have what we want (even when it is not in our best interest) in order for us to learn important lessons.
• Students will learn God chooses people to lead for reasons people may not understand.

Interesting Facts:

• The people demanding a king was a sign they were beginning to lose faith in God and wanted an earthly king to lead them into their battles.
• Saul had the physical appearance of what the people wanted in a king. Unfortunately, the people would soon learn Saul did not have the godly heart a king needs and was required by God to have.
