Scripture: Matthew 22:1-14
Learning Objectives:
- Students will learn God invites everyone to become a Christian, but not everyone will accept the invitation.
- Students will learn even those who become Christians can be rejected by God if they do not continue to obey and follow Him.
- Students will learn God has had a plan from the beginning to allow everyone the chance to become a Christian.
Interesting Facts:
- Banquets were important in New Testament society. They could last for days and had many expectations placed on the hosts and guests.
- The host of a banquet provided the wedding garments for his guests. For the guest to not have had on the garment meant he had refused to wear what was provided by the host – even though he had accepted the invitation. The modern example would be one who was baptized and became a Christian but refused to obey God and worship Him after the baptism.
