Learning Objectives:
- Students will review Proverbs about friends and family.
- Students will learn how the Proverbs apply to daily living.
Guiding Question: How can students use the proverbs in daily life?
Materials: None needed
Procedure: Review the various Proverbs about friends and family. Talk with students about the messages in the Proverbs and how they can apply to real life situations. Have students share when they have encountered a situation in which they have acted in a way that a Proverb has advised them to. Divide the students into teams. Give a scenario that would be something the students might encounter during their normal day. Teams must give the wisest choice in that situation as well as the Proverb that supports their choice.
Additional Questions: How can students teach others about the advice the proverbs give?
Supplemental Activities: Have the students prepare and teach a class to younger students about the advice that the proverbs give. The students can role play situations to the students about how to apply the proverbs in difficult situations.
