Family, Faith and Fun Ministry Boxes for Families

Many of you may be looking for activities to encourage families to grow closer to each other and God during the holiday season. The Family, Faith and Fun Box is a Teach One Reach One Ministry project for an urban ministry in Atlanta where we normally provide in person Christian parenting classes as part of their holiday ministry.

Since COVID is making that impossible this year, we designed this box. It provides a family activity and devotional plus parenting tips for each day beginning December 20 and ending January 2. We chose this period because it includes Christmas and New Years so we could include information on habits and goals.

Because these particular families don’t have a lot of resources, we are placing all of the materials needed to complete the activities in a box along with items like socks, winter hats, citrus fruit, etc. As I am still in the process of assembling the boxes, I don’t have a total cost yet. You can find a lot of the items at dollar stores, Five Below or in bulk on Amazon. (We would love for you to use Amazon Smile and list Teach One Reach One Ministries as your charity!) If your families have more resources, this could become a packet or challenge instead of a box.

Although we can’t afford to make up these boxes for the people to whom you minister, we are more than happy to share the scripture, theme and activity idea for each day. Most of the parenting tips you can find in a printable format on our website under parent resources. For each day, there is a sheet that includes the Bible verses, thoughts to share with their kids, instructions for the day’s activity and a bit about the parenting tips attached for the day.
