Weekly Christian Volunteer Challenges #13

Last week we took a Sabbath type rest at Teach One Reach One Ministries. This week we’ve added dozens of new free activity ideas, uploaded our new free ebook Effective Children’s Ministry and more. Here are the social media challenges for the week.

Monday: You’ve asked for it and now we have it online! Written for students at Ukrainian Bible Institute, Effective Children’s Ministry is the free textbook you’ve needed on children’s ministry. It contains the nuggets from brain science and educational best practices that can make your ministry as effective as possible. Learn how things like interleaving, logical fallacies, project based learning and more can enhance what students learn, understand and practice. Learn what makes each type of Bible class activity work and what can make them time wasters. Even the most experienced of people in children’s ministry can find nuggets of helpful information. Even one tweak can make a huge difference for your Bible students. Our donors have enabled us to make this valuable resource free. Please share the link with others. Our goal is to help you help raise up a generation of mighty men and women of God!

Tuesday: Your ministry has probably let you scrambling this year – trying to keep up with all the changes and critical ministry needs. It’s time to take a day for a Sabbath type rest and for some minor godly strategic planning. Where is your ministry now? What do those you minister to most need to become who God wants them to be in our chaotic world? Having a plan allows you to more clearly see how God wants your ministry to progress by noticing how He interacts with it. And a Sabbath type rest will keep you from becoming too empty to minister to others.

Wednesday: This is some of the best chocolate in the world. Unfortunately, I can’t purchase it without traveling thousands of miles. But their are days when I crave it enough to strongly consider doing just that. That is the type of passion you want to instill in your students for reading the Bible – spending time with God, learning what He wants for them and from them in life. Planning intentional ways to encourage that passion for God’s Words will make it more likely to happen.

Thursday: Are the kids in your ministry involved in distance learning or homeschooling this year? It’s a great time to encourage them to teach their kids about God. Our Parenting Like Hannah (.com) blog today has four great ideas with links to our numerous free resources. (Feel free to copy and paste the entire article and share with parents. We just ask that you credit us as the source.)

Friday: This pelican built its nest on top of the water tower to protect its babies from predators. Eventually, those babies will have to learn to protect themselves from predators. You can teach your Bible students how Satan can use people, circumstances and their own selfish desires to prey on their faith. Teach them practical strategies for protecting themselves against temptations. It’s one of the best gifts you can give them.
